Description

In the steelmaking industry, Ferrosilicon is mainly used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent. iron can effectively remove oxygen from molten steel, improving the quality of the steel. At the same time, adding a certain amount of silicon can significantly increase the strength, hardness, elasticity of the steel. In the cast iron industry, Ferrosilicon  is used as a nucleating agent and spheroidizing agent. It can prevent the formation of carb in iron, promote the precipitation and spheroidization of graphite, and thus improve the mechanical properties of cast iron. In the production of iron alloys, ferrosilicon  used as a reducing agent. High-silicon Ferrosilicon , due to its low carbon content and high chemical activity, is a commonly used reducing agent for the production of low- iron alloys. 75# ferrosilicon  is often used in the high-temperature smelting process of metal magnesium in the Pidgeon process, where it displaces from CaO.MgO, consuming about 1.2 tons of silicon iron for every ton of metal magnesium produced, playing a significant role in the production of metal magnesium .
